Most common FAQ and Student comments:

'I've never done any Shakespeare, not sure I can....'

Within most Ensembles we offer opportunity to look at  Shakespearean writings.  We teach in a a non dull, fun, interactive way to learn all about the plays you've heard so much about.   Leave your fear at the door.  This is learning about Shakespeare  as  you've never experienced!   A really fun, gentle intro to The Bard through improvisation, and fast track performance.  Huge fun and preparation for University or auditions or just to broaden knowledge.

'Stage Fighting?? I wouldn't know how....'

Good...that means we can teach you in the most effective way. Stage fighting enhances and forges the closeness of an acting ensemble and allows students to work and achieve together using voice, body and strong self discipline.   Stage fighting is exactly that, staged.  Moves and fights are choreographed, rehearsed and involves much teamwork.  It is not self defence, it does not require physical contact or  physical fitness. Sometimes we even fight to music!

Why does everyone wear black?

Black is a blank canvas upon which we can place a character.  Many work or social groups wear uniforms or defining accessories. When an entire ensemble wears a block of colour it bonds the ensemble to the artistic work.  Black blocks out any outside influences of work, school and even personality allowing the training actor to become something or someone else different to themselves in a much more effective and  thorough way.
